Equipment List


  • Dutch oven or large heavy-bottom pot
  • Hamburger chopper
  • Small bowl
  • Whisk

Ingredients


  • 2 lbs ground beef
    - 90% lean or higher
  • 1 medium onion
    - diced
  • 2 garlic cloves
    - minced
  • 1 can light red kidney beans
  • 1 can Navy beans
  • 8 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 can Original Rotel
  • 7.5 oz can chipotle sauce
  • 2 Tbsp sweet chili sauce
  • 14.5 oz can fire-roasted diced petite tomatoes
  • 2 Tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp liquid smoke
  • 1 Tbsp flour
    - more if needed
  • shredded cheese, sour cream
    - additional options for toppings

Preparation Instructions


  • Mince garlic
  • Dice onion

Cooking Instructions


  • Preheat to 89°F
  • Add 2 lbs ground beef to pan
  • Using hamburger chopper, mash and break up ground beef into small pieces
  • Add 1 medium onion to pan
  • Add 2 garlic cloves to pan
  • Continue mashing beef with onions and garlic
  • Note: Ensure beef is fully cooked and no pink remains before adding remaining ingredients.
  • Add 1 can light red kidney beans to pan
  • Add 1 can Navy beans to pan
  • Add 14.5 oz can fire-roasted diced petite tomatoes to pan
  • Add 1 can Original Rotel to pan
  • Add 8 oz can tomato sauce to pan
  • Add 7.5 oz can chipotle sauce to pan
  • Add 2 Tbsp sweet chili sauce to pan
  • Add 2 Tbsp chili powder , 2 tsp cumin and 2 tsp salt to pan
  • Add 1/2 tsp garlic powder , 1/2 tsp black pepper and 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper to pan
  • Add 1 tsp onion powder to pan
  • Add 1/2 tsp liquid smoke to pan
  • Stir ingredients
  • Scoop some of the liquid into a bowl containing the flour. Whisk together thoroughly and return mixture to pot.

  • Note: If the chili is runnier than you like at this point, you can repeat whisking 1 Tbsp of flour with some of the liquid, then stir mixture back into the chili until fully incorporated.

  • Remove from heat. Chili will thicken more as it sits.

Finishing Instructions


  • Top with all of your favorite fixings-cheese, fruits, crackers, sour cream, avocados, and more!
