Ingredients


  • Patties
    • 14 oz ground beef
      - need 2-7 oz patties each
    • salt
      - to taste
    • pepper
      - to taste
  • Gravy
    • 1/2 Tbsp canola oil
    • 1 c yellow onion
      - sliced
    • 1 Tbsp garlic
      - minced
    • 1 c white button mushrooms
      - sliced
    • 2 c beef broth
    • 1/2 Tbsp soy sauce
    • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • Slurry
    • 1 Tbsp cornstarch
    • 1 Tbsp cold water
  • 2 green onions
    - sliced for garnish
  • Optional
    • 2 c cooked rice
    • 2 hamburger patties

Preparation Instructions


  • Measure ingredients and prepare. Set aside.

  • Shape Patties - Form into two patties about 1/2" thick. Place on a plate and season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.

  • Make cornstarch slurry - add cornstarch and cold water into a small bowl. Whisk till smooth.Set aside.
  • Place skillet on stovetop

Cooking Instructions


  • Preheat to 350°F
  • Add 1/2 Tbsp canola oil to pan
  • Add two patties
  • Swirl patties in pan
  • Flip ingredients
  • Swirl patties in pan
  • Remove patties from skillet and place on a plate
  • Add 1 c yellow onion to pan
  • Stir ingredients
  • Stir ingredients
  • Add 1 Tbsp garlic to pan
  • Add 1 c white button mushrooms to pan
  • Add pepper to pan
  • Add salt to pan
  • Stir ingredients
  • Add 1/2 Tbsp soy sauce to pan
  • Add 1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce to pan
  • Stir ingredients
  • Add 2 c beef broth to pan
  • Add cornstarch slurry
  • Stir ingredients
  • Place patties back into the skillet
  • Remove from heat

Finishing Instructions


  • For Loco Moco with Rice - place 1 cup steamed rice on a plate then place patty, then gravy with mushrooms and onions, then a fried egg then top it with sliced green onions. Repeat steps for the orher patty.

  • For Loco Moco Burger - place bottom burger bun on plate, then place patty, then gravy with mushrooms and onions, then a fried egg, then green onions then the top bun. Repeat steps for the other patty.
