Miso Ginger Steak Bites

- Large bowl
- 10" non-stick skillet
- Toothpicks for serving - optional
Ingredients
- 3 Tbsp canola oil
- Marinade
- 1/4 c white miso paste
- 2 Tbsp reduced sodium soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp ginger paste - or freshly grated ginger
- 1 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp Sake
- 2 tsp sesame oil
- 4 cloves garlic - finely chopped
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1/4 c yellow onion- sliced
- 2 lbs sirloin or ribeye steak- cut into large 1" cubes
- 1 tsp seasame seeds- optional - garnish
- scallions- optional - garnish, thinly sliced
Preparation Instructions
- Miso Ginger Marinade - Combine white miso paste, soy sauce, ginger paste, brown sugar, sake, garlic, sesame oil and salt in a medium bowl. Then whisk.
- Cut the steak into 1" cube pieces. With a paper towel, pat the steak pieces till dry.
- Add the 1" steak pieces into the marinade. Stir and evenly coat. Put the bowl into the refrigerator and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- If you have excess marinate, spoon it out or drain excess. The marinade should be pretty dry so meat does not steam when placed in the skillet.
Cooking Instructions
- Preheat to 298°F
- Add 3 Tbsp canola oil to pan
- Add the marinate steak pieces
- Flip ingredients

- Remove from heat.
Finishing Instructions
- Garnish with sesame seeds and scallions.
- Serve immediately. Put toothpicks in the steak bites if serving as an appetizer.
