Equipment List


  • Large pot of Dutch oven

Ingredients


  • 2 lbs strawberries
    - stems removed and quartered (use a food scale to weigh after you have removed stems)
  • 1 c sugar
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice

Cooking Instructions


  • Add 2 lbs strawberries to pan
  • Add 1 c sugar to pan
  • Add 1 Tbsp lemon juice to pan
  • Stir ingredients to coat berries completely.
  • Turn on heat to bring mixture to a boil.
  • Stir mixture occasionally as it comes to a boil.
  • Stir ingredients
  • Reduce heat to bring mixture to a simmer.
  • Stir occasionally as mixture simmers.
  • Stir ingredients
  • Return mixture to a boil by turning up the heat.
  • Stir ingredients
  • Return mixture to a simmer by lowering heat.
  • Stir ingredients
  • Turn off heat, remove from heat and allow to cool completely.

Finishing Instructions


  • After mixture is completely cooled, refrigerate in airtight container.
  • Can be frozen for up to three months.
  • Jam will be runny when done cooking. It will thicken considerably once fully cooled and refrigerated.
