Equipment List
- Large pot of Dutch oven
Ingredients
- 2 lbs strawberries- stems removed and quartered (use a food scale to weigh after you have removed stems)
- 1 c sugar
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice
Cooking Instructions
- Add 2 lbs strawberries to pan
- Add 1 c sugar to pan
- Add 1 Tbsp lemon juice to pan
- Stir ingredients to coat berries completely.
- Turn on heat to bring mixture to a boil.
- Stir mixture occasionally as it comes to a boil.
- Stir ingredients
- Reduce heat to bring mixture to a simmer.
- Stir occasionally as mixture simmers.
- Stir ingredients
- Return mixture to a boil by turning up the heat.
- Stir ingredients
- Return mixture to a simmer by lowering heat.
- Stir ingredients
- Turn off heat, remove from heat and allow to cool completely.
Finishing Instructions
- After mixture is completely cooled, refrigerate in airtight container.
- Can be frozen for up to three months.
- Jam will be runny when done cooking. It will thicken considerably once fully cooled and refrigerated.
