Cajun Shrimp

Equipment List


  • Plate
  • Paper towel
  • 10" non stick pan
  • Tong
  • Spatula

Ingredients


  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 6 large shrimp
    - deveined and peeled. Also, pat dry.
  • 1 Tbsp garlic
    - minced
  • 1 tsp cajun spice
    - used Slap Yo Mama spice
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 3 Tbsp butter
    - sliced into Tbsp pieces
  • 1/2 c white wine
    - Pinot Gris or Chardonnay
  • 1 c andouille sausage
    - diced
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice
    - squeeze a fresh lemon
  • parsley
    - chopped for garnish

Preparation Instructions


  • Measure and prepare ingredients. Set aside.

  • Pat shrimp dry with a papertowel.

Cooking Instructions


  • Preheat to 246°F
  • Add 1 Tbsp olive oil to pan
  • Add 1 c andouille sausage to pan
  • Stir ingredients
  • Push sausage to the side on pan
  • Add 6 large shrimp to pan
  • Flip ingredients
  • Remove Shrimp and sausage and place on a plate. Shrimp should be seared but not fully cooked because you will be finishing the cooking of it in the sauce.
  • Add 3 Tbsp butter to pan
  • Stir ingredients
  • Add 1 Tbsp garlic to pan
  • Stir ingredients
  • Add 1/2 c white wine to pan
  • Stir ingredients
  • Add 1 tsp cajun spice , 1 tsp paprika and 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes to pan
  • Stir ingredients
  • Add 1/2 tsp lemon juice to pan
  • Stir ingredients
  • Add shrimp and sausage back into the pan
  • Stir ingredients
  • Remove from heat.

Finishing Instructions


  • Garnish with parsley
  • Enjoy immediately with grits or rice or mashed potatoes.
