Mom’s Holiday Wreaths

My mom always used to make these growing up and they always made me excited for Christmas. This classic recipe is so easy and festive too!

Equipment List


  • Large saucepan
  • 1/4 c measuring cup coated with cooking spray
  • Baking sheet with parchment paper

Ingredients


  • 5 1/3 Tbsp butter
  • 1 Package (10 oz., about 40) regular marshmallows
  • 1 tsp green food coloring
  • 6 c corn flakes or honey crunch corn flakes cereal
  • 2 oz Red Cinnamon Candies
    - for decorating
  • 8 oz prepared frosting
    - for decorating

  • Line baking sheet with parchment paper

Cooking Instructions


  • Heat ingredients
  • Add 5 1/3 Tbsp butter to pan
  • Stir ingredients
  • Stir ingredients
  • Add 1 Package (10 oz., about 40) regular marshmallows to pan
  • Stir ingredients

  • Note: Stir until the butter and marshmallows are completely melted.
  • Stir ingredients
  • Remove from heat

Finishing Instructions


  • Stir in green food coloring to warm marshmallow mixture.
  • Add corn flakes cereal. Stir until well coated.
  • Using the 1/4 c measuring cup coated with cooking spray, scoop out the mixture and evenly portion warm cereal mixture. Using buttered fingers, quickly shape into individual wreaths and place on baking sheet. Note that melted marshmallows will be VERY hot - it also may be easier to use a spoon to shape wreaths or wait til the marshmallows cool a little bit. Use your best judgment.
  • Dot with cinnamon candies. Use prepared frosting to hold candies in place.
  • Store in airtight container.
