Beer Cheese Dip
This pub-style dip is creamy, salty and smooth plus flavored with beer.

Equipment List
- 3 qt non-stick saucepan
- Whisk
- Medium bowl
- Grater for cheese
Ingredients
- 3 Tbsp butter- unsalted
- 3 Tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 c whole milk
- 1/2 c beer- we used Oktoberfest Beer or other beers work too
- 2 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3 c Sharp Cheddar Cheese- shredded
- optional garnish
- 1/4 c cilantro- chopped for garnish
Preparation Instructions
- Measure ingredients. Set aside.
- Shred cheese into a bowl. Set aside.
Cooking Instructions
- Preheat to 185°F
- Add 3 Tbsp butter to pan
- Stir ingredients
- Stir ingredients
- Add 3 Tbsp all-purpose flour to pan
- Stir ingredients
- Add 1/2 c beer to pan
- Stir ingredients
- Add 1 c whole milk to pan
- Stir ingredients
- Stir ingredients
- Add 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce to pan
- Add 2 tsp Dijon mustard to pan
- Note: When it is time to add cheese, slowly add in cheese and make sure cheese is melted before adding more cheese.
- Slowly add a third of the grated cheese.
- Stir ingredients
- Slowly add a third of the cheese
- Stir ingredients
- Slowly add the rest of the cheese.
- Stir ingredients
- Remove from heat.
Finishing Instructions
- Serve with pretzel bites, pretzels or chips.
- Serve immediately - while warm.
